Japanese protest violence in China’s far west

An activist group says around 1,000 protesters in Tokyo called on China to end ethnic violence in its far west.
The demonstration in the Japanese capital Sunday ended peacefully.
Japan’s Uyghur Association said around 1,000 people, including several ethnic Uighurs, joined the march. Tokyo police did not give their own estimate.
Riots in China’s restive west, where Uighurs clashed with members of the Han Chinese majority, have left at least 184 people dead. Some Uighurs, however, contend many more have died.
